Dear World

In a world where conflict disproportionately affects women and children, there is a need to elevate the voices of young women. The international community cannot afford to overlook the perspective of the population who have the power to be the solution to ending violence and halting conflicts on a global scale.

Dear World, Move Us Toward Peace, a collaboration between Empower Peace and Our Secure Future, will showcase an untapped vision of the future and new solutions to the overwhelming conflicts and problems that surround young and old alike. Engaging young women’s voices is a step toward full participation of women in the peace process, which is a central goal of the Women, Peace and Security agenda. For girls to grow to be negotiators, mediators, or peacemakers, they need space to explore solutions and understand they have the agency and capacity to be change-makers. The beliefs young women have about themselves and the world matter.
